Class Description
New for 2024! As Kennedy said in 1963, “I am a Jelly Doughnut.” Well, Chef Nate is not a jelly doughnut but he sure knows how to make a tasty one. Beloved throughout the world, doughnuts are that one food that everyone can’t seem to pass up even if they are full, and like potato chips you can’t have just one. Chef Nate will guide students to successful yeast and chemically leavened doughnuts while at the same helping navigate the perils and pitfalls of successful frying. Students will also learn the importance of temperatures and textures of dough prior to and post-frying and when to “season” and glaze.
At the end of class, students will take home a box full of doughnuts that will rival those of many a doughnut chain. Participants will also leave with the confidence to replicate recipes at home and never need to get a store-bought doughnut ever again.
