  • French King Cake or Galette des Rois
  • Almond Cream

Class Description

Now taught by Chef Nate! To celebrate Epiphany on January 6, French people eat a King Cake, usually made of puff pastry and almond cream. The cake has a small cute trinket inside and the person who gets the piece of cake with the trinket gets to be the queen or king! During this class, Chef Nate will show you how to work with our puff pastry by fluting the edges and egg washing the top to give the King’s cake a refined finish and will get everyone you meet asking, “Where did you buy that?” Everyone will make one King cake to take home. At the end of class, discover the tradition with the group by sharing a cake made by your chef. Please note the technique of puff pastry is not taught in this class but a quick version will be taught in Chef Nate’s Quick Puff Pastry Class (frozen vacuum sealed puff pastry is available in our store for purchase at 10% off at the end of your cooking class).

This is a seasonal class that only takes place around January 6th.
